Although our DIY packages are the most bang for the buck, and if you purchase one of these you shouldn’t need aquaponic consulting from anyone, we are always available to help you with aquaponic system design.

One place aquaponic consulting services could be particularly valuable is in a large start-up operation where sophisticated systems planning, site design, and aquaponic system design needs to be done to ensure success while dealing with multiple variables. We can tell you quickly if your proposal is achievable, and approximately what the cost and time involved will be.
Our “basic” aquaponic consulting package is $1,000 and covers five hours of direct phone consultation with Tim and/or Susanne.

As the commercial aquaponics farm that’s been in business the longest, we have the most experience to share with you. That now includes the Friendly “Business Module”, which walks you through all the steps of starting an aquaponics business. When you purchase this consulting package, you will be given a link to download the complete Friendly Business Module.
The most important part of the Business Module is our new Food Safety Certification package. This is NOT the old GAP “guidelines”; they are no longer applicable. Our FSMA package is a self-explanatory set of documents that guide you through the process, and includes a sample checklist audit, complete instructions, and extensive fillable forms that you simply put your farm name and information into for your Food Safety inspection.
The Business Module also includes two easy-to-use spreadsheets for predicting specific crop and market success; all you do is get local prices for the produce item, and enter your itemized costs of doing business. The spreadsheets automatically calculate your gross income, then take out total expenses (including labor- it shows you how to estimate this also), loan payments, depreciation, and even taxes, and return a bottom line number that shows how much money you will make.

It also includes two aquaponics business plans, a promotional slide show you can use to educate your bank loan officer and investors about aquaponics, our newest pest control publication: “How To Win The War On Bugs”, the most up-to-date information on costs and considerations for using artificial lighting in your commercial aquaponics system, and most importantly: our new guide “How To Select A Property For Organic Certification” (it’s smart to check before you buy, because those folks won’t just certify any property).
After you’ve purchased the basic Consulting package, you are welcome to send us questions via email, then call (at a time arranged in the email) to go over the answers to the questions. We suggest you read all the material in the Friendly Business Module first, however, as it will answer many of your questions, then you will be able to cover more advanced questions during our phone time together. We will also send you photos via email to illustrate anything that we are talking about.
